Florfenicol inhibits peptide chain extension by tightly binding to 50S subunit on bacterial ribosome to block peptide acyltransferase peptide transfer reaction; Simultaneously selectively acting on the receptor of the 70S ribosome that makes up the bacterial cell, alters and interferes with the function of peptidyltransferase, thereby double interfering with the synthesis of bacterial proteins. The antibacterial spectrum and activity of fluoro  phenicol are slightly better than that of thiamphenicol, and it has strong antibacterial activity against various Gram positive bacteria, Gram negative bacteria, and Mycoplasma. Pasteurella haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida are highly sensitive to this product, while streptococcus, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhimurium, Klebsiella, Escherichia coli and Haemophilus are sensitive to this product.
