Alabendazole, also known as albendazole, is a white to pale yellow crystalline powder, odorless, with a melting point of 208 to 210 ºC. It is insoluble in water, slightly soluble in hot dilute hydrochloric acid, acetone, or chloro-form, and soluble in methanol, ethanol, or acetic acid.

1. Albendazole is an efficient broad-spectrum insect repellent. It can block the absorption of various nutrients and glucose by the parasite, leading to the depletion of glycogen in the parasite, making it unable to survive and reproduce. Used to treat single or mixed infections caused by roundworms, pinworms, whipworms, hookworms, etc.
2. Binding to tubulin and inhibiting microtubule polymerization.
3. This product is an efficient and broad-spectrum new insecticide with significant efficacy against liver flukes, tapeworms, lung and gastrointestinal nematodes. It is one of the most effective benzimidazole drugs and is currently the preferred drug for the prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases in livestock and poultry. This product is effective against adult and larvae of liver flukes in cattle and sheep, as well as large flukes, with a worm reduction rate of up to 90-100%. In recent years, it has been found that this product also has a strong effect on bovine cysticercosis. After treatment, the cysticercosis decreases and the lesion disappears. In addition, this product can also be used to prevent parasitic infections, so it can achieve good results in promoting sheep growth and increasing wool production.

Albendazole is a benzimidazole derivative that is rapidly metabolized into sulfoxide, sulfonyl alcohol, and 2-aminosulfonyl alcohol when it enters the body. Selective and irreversible inhibition of glucose uptake by intestinal nematodes leads to depletion of endogenous glycogen and inhibition of fumarate reductase, thereby preventing the production of adenosine triphosphate and causing death of the worms.
