Amikacin sulfate is a semi-synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic with a similar antibacterial spectrum to gentamicin, and is effective against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Proteus. It is also effective against other aminoglycoside antibiotic-resistant strains.
